Xenical ®
The generic name for Xenical ® is Orlistat.
Xenical pills, unlike most weight loss pills that suppress your appetite, works by inhibiting the absorption of dietary fat in the gastrointestinal tract, blocking about one third of fat being absorbed by your body. It inactivates the enzymes involved in the digestion of fats within the stomach.
Xenical, available in 120mg tablets, are used for weight loss and management when coupled with a reduced calorie diet. Activity is not necessarily required when taking this pill, but you will achieve better results faster if exercise is included into your daily lifestyle. Xenical has also proven to reduce the risk of weight gain after ceasing the treatment.
Xenical is usually taken with each main meal that contains fat. It can be taken during meals or up to 1 hour after a meal. It is not recommended for people with diabetes, gallbladder problems, have anorexia or bulimia, just to name a few. Speak to your Doctor for further information.
Each time you have a dose of Xenical, your meal should contain no more than around 30% of calories from fat. If it is taken with a meal very high in fat, there is an increased chance of digestive side effects.
